Frist time daycare/preschool mom here!! We have been blessed with family that could split up the week to keep my little one while we worked! Within a week of school starting, we had to change things up a bit. We enrolled our son in the local Christian preschool and daycare. I had exactly one week to prepare; Buy supplies (yes the 2 year olds have supplies, I wasn't really surprised tho). We had to get more socks, seeing how our kid didn't wear shoes ever our parents, socks were an issue, ha!
But, I want to share with you some ways that I've made things a bit personalized for our new adventure!
1. First day shirt!
I borrowed the track hoe from the internet (source), and added my words in Cricut design space. Unfortunately, the cricut malfunctioned and I just cut around the image by hand to avoid that white square outline. This was absolutely a hit, no matter how unprofessional I know it was!
2. Non-permanent name on backpack!
Put their name on the bag! Because, you will thank me later! The teachers will know whose it is, you will be able to find it, and anyone else who may be checking your little one out! My teachers often consolidate classes in the late afternoon, so my sons teacher; Who know his bag is not there to tell where she put it. Headache averted.
Why not permanent? Well, I love a good personalization as much as the next gal! But, I also like to reuse things! This back pack/diaper bag is awesome! The possibility of ever being able to use it with another child, made me go with non-permanent option of "branding". I ironed on his name, to a scrap piece of fabric, and then tacked the corners and middle of the longer sides down with a needle and thread! Easy peasy! If I want to change it, or reuse it... I can! Win!
3. Names on cups!!!
We have to send a cup each day to our school. We can't leave one there for reuse. So I found myself with a sharpie! This barley lasted thru the one day of school! Every cup has a named, no more sharpie in the mornings!
The list was short, but the pay off is long! These were a few ways we DIY'd our way into preschool!
Oh, and yes! So far we are "digging preschool!"
