Have you heard of these painting parties?
Basically its a great excuse to get your friends together, and be crafty. The next best part is the gorgeous art piece you get to take home.
So what exactly happens at this painting party? The parties are either private or public. Most of the private parties have request for the theme of the painting. Whether it be floral wreath, or specific to a theme like horses for a girls birthday party, or a bud of cotton for a fall get together. I will then get the image sketched out, and painted so that my "painting peoples" have something to look at. Kind of like referring to the box the puzzle came in, to figure out what section contains what piece.
I have each canvas, paints, brushes, and other necessities laid at each spot. The canvas is usually blank, but sometimes I have a pre-drawn image if it requires more detail. So I start instruction step by step, beginning with step one:wet your brush and ending with final step: put your initials on your canvas.
There is sure to be a few folks are intimidated by the idea of a blank canvas, as they stare at the "mock" painting. Believe me, there are days where I stare at a blank canvas and feel intimidated. There is No way to fail this project! Its all about being comfortable and walking away proud and confident. You also walk away with a few more memories, and a lot more laughs.
